THE IDEA
Hi 👋 We're Ramey, Lewis and Dan - two engineers and a doctor from Brisbane.The idea for Ta'ameya was born in 2021, on a road trip along the dusty roads of north Western Australia.Having travelled together through Egypt - and with Ramey and Dan's Egyptian family heritage - we knew how good falafel should be, so we set off to make Australia's best falafel.

THE MARKETS
Our passion project began as we tested our recipes with friends and family for months, before becoming a regular at Brisbane's weekend markets from 2022 - Carseldine, Milton and New Farm.It was during our journey at the markets that we started to search for a greater meaning behind what we were doing. Creating Australia's best falafel is still something we are passionate about, however we wanted something greater to aim for.After reflection (and countless late night/early morning conversations) we all agreed that creating a sustainable food system for us and future generations to come was something we all felt deeply passionate about. We believe you shouldn't have to sacrifice taste, quality or satisfaction to eat sustainably - this is what motivates us to create amazing products that we can enjoy every day.In late 2025 we said goodbye (for now) to the markets so we could focus on growing the business in other areas.We're extremely grateful for the wonderful people that we met and who supported us over the years at the weekend markets. They gave us the confidence and belief to keep pushing forward every week.

THE POP-UP
In mid-2024, we opened a pop-up at Spencer Lane in Brisbane CBD, next to Spencer Coffee Bar.What began as one day a week quickly grew to two, then three, and now four days per week.Supported by a loyal following that keeps growing with us, we can't get enough of the excitement in the laneway each day as everyone gets an opportunity to escape from the office and into the laneway even if just for a moment.

THE STORE
In 2026, we'll be opening our first store in Brisbane's CBD. We can't wait to share our first brick & mortar location with each and every one of you. We're working to bring Ta'ameya to more people and more places. Stay tuned!The Store (Coming Soon)
